Laminated glass is a form of safety glass. It is two panes of glass stuck together with a thin plastic sheet between them.
This means that when the glass is broken, the glass remains in place.
It is the law to have laminated glass as safety glass in public buildings.
Laminated comes in many thicknesses including:
- 4.4mm
- 6.8mm
- 7.8mm
- 8.8mm
- 10.8mm
- 11.8mm
We stock 4.4mm & 6.8mm. Other thicknesses can be ordered in on request.
4.4mm Laminate is no longer recommended for use in glazing, it can however be used in picture or notice board frames.
Low E Laminated Glass is available in 6.8mm for use in laminated units.
Laminated glass can be used in conjunction to all other types of glass in unit manufacture.
Toughened Laminated Glass is also available, please contact us for more details.
