Activ™ glass is the Pilkington range of Self-cleaning glass.

This is one of the newest ranges of glass on the market and has been on TV advertising.

It is the glass which cleans itself through solar energy and rain. It requires almost no maintenance at all. The unique coating on the glass does not get worn away over time so the glass doesn't need replacing when it gets older.

During dry spells the glass can be easily cleaned either by simply using a hose or with a soft cloth and warm soapy water.

It can be used in conjunction to other types of glass and can be toughened.

Activ™ glass should be glazed with the GZ tape or with the rubber used in UPVC windows. 

Silicone can break down the coating on the glass so we advise it not be used.
